Refreshing the national carers strategy – call for evidence

In responding to this consultation, we would like it to be noted that we see the Carers Strategy within a wider framework of health and social care provision, both of which are currently being, or are soon to be consulted on by the Government. Our response to this consultation should therefore be taken in context with our response to these, especially in respect of the health and social care needs of careers as part of the wider patient and service-user communities. We will also be taking the opportunities afforded by the forthcoming social care White Paper and the Commission on Long Term Care, to provide further comment on carers from the nursing perspective.
