Building better partnerships: delivering equality outcomes
On Monday 11 July 2011, more than 100 people attended this half-day event to find out how best to engage with the forthcoming NHS Equality Delivery System (EDS).

Speakers at the event included:
- Joan Saddler, National Director of Patient and Public Involvement, Department of Health and NHS Equality and Diversity Council member. Joan gave an overview of the work and of the NHS Equality and Diversity Council (PPT 334KB)
- Maqsood Ahmad, Director of EDS Implementation from the Department of Health. Maqsood provided a comprehensive summary of the Equality Delivery System (PPT 721KB)
- Josie Irwin, Head of Employment Relations for the Royal College of Nursing. Josie shared some of her thoughts on the implementation of the EDS (PPT 312KB)
- Paul Deemer from NHS Employers. Paul provided a highly interactive session about the need to ensure accountability across the implementation of the EDS (PPT 414KB)
- Mary Clarke, Associate Chief Nurse and Equalities Lead, NHS London. Mary offered some practical tips and solutions to ensuring full engagement with local interests (PPT 841KB).
