General equalities
Commission for Equality and Human Rights (CEHR)
This is a new Commission established by the 2006 Equality Act. The CEHR will bring the resources to promote equality and tackle discrimination in relation to gender, gender reassignment, disability, sexual orientation, religion or belief, age and human rights from October 2007, and will include Race by April 2009.
The CEHR becomes fully operational at the end of October 2007.
Equality Direct
The site provides general guidance to employers on some of the main equality topics, including case studies and legislation. Advisers are available to call for specific advice free of charge.
European Commission
This website serves as a source of information on the EU-wide campaign "For Diversity. Against Discrimination." At the same time you will find background information about the measures that have been initiated by the European Commission's Directorate General for Employment, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities to combat discrimination. Finally, the website provides an update on current anti-discrimination issues and activities in all of the 25 EU Member States.
Home Office
The Home Office is the government department responsible for internal affairs in England and Wales. Their site is not dedicated to equality issues so you need to use the A-Z to guide you. The race equality and diversity part of the site contains links to related information on other sites and to publications on the subject.
National Assembly for Wales
The purpose of the Equality of Opportunity Committee is to ensure that the Assembly has effective arrangements to promote the principle of equality of opportunity for all people in the exercise of its functions and the conduct of its business.
The Committee has a strong interest in seeing that a dialogue with groups representing minority and disadvantaged interests takes place at all levels in the Assembly.
NHS Centre for Equality and Human Rights
The Centre works proactively to build the commitment and capacity of health service organisations to ensure staff and patients are treated fairly and according to their needs.

The Equality Commission for Northern Ireland is an independent public body established under the Northern Ireland Act 1998.

South East Wales Race Equality Partnership
SEWREC provide information, advice and support for individuals, policy advice to public and voluntary sector bodies and advice and support to community based organisations working in the equalities field.
