Public Health England (PHE)
This generally affects Department of Health, Health Protection Agency, strategic health authority and primary care trust staff. There are, however, a smaller number of other affected members who are employed across a range of bodies such as universities and foundation trusts and this is adding to the complexity of the transfers. The structures have been published with a headquarters in Leeds where the majority of posts will be located.
There will be a small regional presence in areas, however it is acknowledged that geography will be an issue. Job matching has now commenced and it is acknowledged that there are likely to be vacancies though these may not necessarily be where staff "at risk" are.
It has been confirmed that all staff transferring into Public Health England will receive written notification by 19 December. HR have given an undertaking that any issues around inaccurate job descriptions during the job matching process will be revisited. Everybody will transfer over on their current pension scheme including those within the atomic energy and university schemes.
