Agenda for Change (AfC) pay in high cost areas 1 April 2006/07

Under Agenda for Change harmonised allowances replace London weighting, fringe allowances and cost of living supplements

Clinical grades 1 April 2006/07

Following the signing of the AfC agreement the old Whitley pay system ceased to exist. Although AfC is now a reality for the NHS, moving on to the new pay bands has been delayed for some members. These members will continue to be paid on their old Whitley clinical grade. However the RCN believes that, wherever members work, they should receive a 2.5 per cent increase and that employers should pay this increase to those on Whitley as well as staff on AfC. When staff are moved onto the new pay bands their pay will be calculated as per the AfC band.
