Susan Williams

Susan manages a small team which coordinates the RCN’s EU and international policy, campaigns  and international development activity. She joined the RCN in 1995 as European Officer focusing on expanding the RCN’s influence on EU policies and proposals impacting on health. She was a member of the European Health Management Association’s EU Advisory Committee until 2009.

Prior to joining the RCN Susan worked as a European Policy Officer in the international arm of the local authority associations in the UK, the Local Government International Bureau. During this time she was seconded to Croydon Borough Council’s Economic Development Department to develop their European strategy.

She is a qualified teacher and has teaching experience in the UK, Germany and Turkey. She holds a degree in International Relations, German and French, and also speaks Turkish. She was recently awarded an MSc in health policy, planning and financing from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and London School of Economics.
