Working Time Directive
Opt out remains for foreseeable future
The conciliation process between the European Parliament and the European Council of Ministers failed to reach common ground and so the contentious review of the Working Time Directive fails. The stumbling blocks to an agreement were the opt-out clause, on-call time and multiple contracts. Consequently, the current working time directive remains in force.
