Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM)

RCN Council called an EGM, which took place on 28 September 2018 in Birmingham.

The EGM was called following a petition by 1,017 members. The signatories of the petition called for a vote of no confidence in the current leadership of the RCN and for RCN Council to stand down.

After a vote of no confidence at the EGM, RCN Council has announced that it will be standing down.

Elections will take place as soon as possible, with new Council taking up office on 1 January 2019.

EGM vote result

Indicative results of the vote were announced at the meeting. The indicative results were:

11,156 (78.1%) votes for the motion
3,124 (21.9%) votes against the motion 
1,112 abstentions

This represents 3.47% of the RCN's membership.
