13 May 2018 17:45 - 18:30

Meeting Room 3B, Belfast Waterfront, 2 Lanyon Place, Belfast, BT1 3WH

FREE

Hosted by: RCN Membership Relations Directorate

BSL is the language of the UK’s deaf community and with more than 11 million people – or one in six of the population – with some form of hearing loss, even some basic signing skills will improve your communication skills immensely.

There are a number of benefits to learning BSL and this session aims to provide you a brief introduction to the basics. They include:

  • Give your brain a work-out – learning any new language provides mental stimulation
  • Enhance your memory – both in the long and the short term
  • Improve your practice – communicate more effective with diverse patients.
