Act, don’t delay: Learning disabilities changing care healthier futures

20 May 2019 17:45 - 18:30

11C, ACC Liverpool , Kings Dock , Liverpool Waterfront , Liverpool , L3 4FP

Hosted by: RCN Inner North Central London Branch

People with learning disabilities die 15-20 years younger than other members of society. Changing care by providing health advice, guidance and practical solutions enhances lives, health and well being outcomes.
To enhance lives we all need to:
  • assess what is happening for and to the person
  • consider what is behind what is happening is a health problem?
  • take action – don’t delay – get the person checked out.
This fringe session will provide tried and tested ways of ensuring that nurses working across education, health and social care settings explore beyond what they see and tune into the person’s needs.
