Disability Passport Guidance

If you have been recommended to obtain adjustments to help you at work, or if you are line manager to someone who needs adjustments, a disability passport could benefit you.

This guidance is in pilot stage. We know that the initiative has worked in the private sector, and that some NHS trusts are using it. We want to encourage wider use in the healthcare sector because we believe that it:

  • Helps individuals to have difficult conversations with their line managers
  • Forms a basis for future discussion – avoiding issues when managers change
  • Is a good record of what has happened if there are challenges later on

The guidance will be helpful to you as an individual employee or line manager. However when implemented across an organisation for all staff, greater benefit is seen.

Please enter your details below to be sent the guidance.

By completing the below you agree that the RCN can contact you about the Disability Passport initiative, to gain feedback.
