Building nursing capability in economic assessment

The RCN is committed to showcasing nurse-led innovation and building nursing's innovation capacity and capability.

We know nurses develop and re-design services around patient need. However, whilst many nurses have the skills to demonstrate the clinical effectiveness of their innovations, not so many are able to clearly demonstrate their value in economic terms. For this reason, the RCN has been working in partnership with the Office for Public Management (OPM) to build nursing capability in economic assessment to help nurses demonstrate the value of nurse-led innovation in practice. Participants in the programme are required to submit a case study. Case studies are detailed below.
