RCN Northern Ireland

Northern Ireland Assembly elections

$name

The Northern Ireland Assembly elections on 5 May 2016 and 2 March 2017 provided important opportunities for RCN members to help set the health agenda over the next five years or so.

In advance of each election, the RCN Northern Ireland Board agreed a series of strategic priorities that we believe all political parties must address in order to deliver the very best health and social care services for the people of Northern Ireland. They focus upon building political consensus on health and social care reform and modernisation, prioritising public health, delivering safe nurse staffing and securing fair pay for nurses in Northern Ireland.

The RCN will continue to use these priorities to engage with Assembly members in order to seek their continued commitment and support for nurses and nursing in Northern Ireland.
