"When I first met Sheralyn (everyone calls her Shez) - my Macmillan Neuro Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist - I thought she was absolutely lovely.
"She had such a warm glow about her. She was really calm and smiley – just the kind of person you could talk to.
"I had just been diagnosed with a brain tumour and some of the stuff that Shez was talking about was quite frightening and complex. But she said it in such a way that it was much easier to process – something I just had to go through.
"Every Friday I had an appointment with Shez where we'd chat through how I was feeling, if I had any symptoms and how tired I was. She was informative, friendly and supportive, and she had a tremendously positive impact on me.
"On Nurses' Day, I want to say thank you to Shez, a very special person, for all her amazing support – I couldn’t have got through it without you."
