Paediatric Intensive Care Nurse Manager Community

The Children's Intensive Care Nurse Managers Community is a virtual network of individuals with an interest in this area of practice. We are are affiliated with the RCN and Paediatric Intensive Care society. 


The purpose of this community is to:

  • be a powerful voice for the unique and complex needs of children, young
    people and families within children's critical care services
  • lead and advance practice within children's critical care
  • share good practice and learning
  • influence and advise various professional bodies and organisations through a
    unified and expert voice
  • ensure effective implementation and monitoring of national standards for
    children's critical care by benchmarking with other units
  • provide support, expertise and coaching to all community members

Our aims and objectives: 

  • sustain contribution to NHS England commissioning for Paediatric Critical Care 
  • share and disseminate good practice
  • platform for professional debate 
  • to inform PICS and RCN Children’s and Young People forums
  • to inform future publications/educations/workforce strategic developments across the UK and Ireland
  • establish and maintain community membership
