Get involved in our sustainability work
In November 2024, the Library and Museum launches an exhibition drawing attention to an emerging area of nursing practice around the climate crisis.
Connect with us:
We aim to encourage health care workers to think about sustainability and reducing the carbon footprint of health care, and to develop tools to support the RCN’s wider work on climate action.
Thanks to funding from Museum Development London, we are linking in with the RCN’s sustainability lead, Rose Gallagher, to offer a range of practical and engagement opportunities around climate change. From 14 November, you’ll be able to get recycling yourself in our exhibition, bringing in pill blisters and uncontaminated gloves and face masks to dispose of.
We are also working with artist Lisa Gornick on a series of art workshops to get nursing staff thinking about health care and the climate emergency. If you’re an RCN member, you can join Lisa in Birmingham on 2 October at an event to shape the RCN’s sustainability priorities, or anyone can drop into the launch of our exhibition to get involved. More workshops will be happening in early 2025, so keep an eye on our events page.
