RCN Congress 2023: free educational sessions revealed

Full details of our Learning and Wellbeing Programme are now available online.

Congress debate

With RCN Congress less than a month away – from 14-18 May in Brighton – we’re excited to share our full Learning and Wellbeing Programme which counts towards CPD and runs alongside the main agenda of debates.

The varied and thought-provoking sessions are free for members at Congress to drop into and cater to all areas of the membership. Spend a morning hearing about a day in the life of a prison nurse or an afternoon discussing how to build power in your workplace through activism.

There’s a session on returning to work with long COVID, to help staff feel confident in supporting colleagues with long COVID get back to work.

Students can learn about how social media is increasingly used to maximise influence and leadership.

For health care support workers, there’s a session on communicating with people with moderate to severe dementia.

Independent sector members can find out more about what the RCN is doing for them, with an in-depth look at our independent health and social care strategy. Plus, much more.

See the full programme here.

Members can build their own schedule with our new Congress Planner. Save the sessions you want to attend to “my schedule” and view as a personalised timetable for the event.

Congress provides a unique opportunity for delegates to debate key issues around nursing practice that shape the RCN’s future work. Attendees will vote on several important and diverse issues in the debating sessions held in the main hall.

Agenda items so far include health care provisions for refugees and those seeking asylum, abortion protest buffer zones, improving awareness around unconscious bias, and supporting members of LGBTQ+ communities who are victims of hate crime.

Congress is free to attend and is the RCN’s flagship annual member event. Delegates must register to attend in advance. Book your place now.
