As Nurses’ Day falls on a Sunday this year, I know many of you will be holding your own celebrations on the days before and after to ensure as many of your team get to take part as possible. We look forward to seeing pictures from your events shared on social media and please also look out for our own posts and videos on Facebook and X.
As always, we want to recognise the contribution you make in caring for your patients and supporting your colleagues every day. Your skills, training and dedication can be seen across all disciplines and sectors across our region and the UK.
For too long the nursing profession has been overlooked. With a General Election this year, it is even more important to have your voice heard. Nursing staff have been taken for granted. We need to show politicians how you, as highly skilled professionals, have an invaluable role in delivering excellent care. Without you, health services cannot deliver this care which is so vital to the population.
I hope you will join me and the rest of RCN Eastern team as we celebrate Nurses’ Day and the work you do. There are lots of ways you can get involved, from planning something in your workplace to downloading our posters. You can also take part in Nurses’ Day by using social media to help demonstrate the difference nursing makes and to share content about the day. Use #NursesDay and don’t forget to tag @theRCN and @RCNEastern so your posts can be shared.
You can find out more about Nurses’ Day on the website.
