A disgrace that we are getting paid less for the same role

“As such, my pay is always at basic level with no enhancements. I am actually getting paid less per month than when I was as a Band 5 ICU nurse, despite undertaking a more complex role.

“Due to this I have been forced to undertake extra shifts with a nursing agency to meet my current bills/ repay debts. I would be extremely keen to see our pay aligned with the rest of the UK as it is a disgrace that we are getting paid less for the same role.

“Also, since the “pay uplift” I now pay more pension contributions (9.3%) and also had to repay money retrospectively (I had to repay over £500).  In real terms I am only £30 per month better off than before the uplift which isn’t great at all and very frustrating.”
