Emilia Clarke asks for silence on the set of Game of Thrones

I was thrilled to announce Emilia Clarke as our new RCN ambassador this weekend.

You may know Emilia Clarke from her role as Daenerys Targaryen in the television hit Game of Thrones or one of her recent films.

Emilia is a passionate advocate for nursing and is committed to using her role to campaign for greater investment in nursing, to challenge misconceptions, and to raise the profile of our members’ innovative work.

Her first activity as ambassador is the launch of a new fundraising campaign for the RCN Foundation.

By donating via Omaze, supporters could win the opportunity to spend a day with Emilia on the Game of Thrones set as it records its final series.

The proceeds of the auction will be used by the RCN Foundation to launch a programme of educational and research grants in Emilia Clarke’s name to support specialist nurses.

I’m sure all of you will know someone who would love a chance to win a visit to the set of Game of Thrones and meet Emilia.

So do please share the link and help us to support nursing staff when the RCN Foundation programme launches later this year.
