I have had a wide experience of taking part in the campaigning activities of the RCN, including the recent Scrap the Cap campaign which involved engaging with members and urging them to cast their vote. I have represented members at various levels, recruited new members to the RCN and worked in partnership with my trust to ensure fairness and a healthy culture in the workplace. I have helped lead and support members attending RCN Congress and conferences, negotiated with Government to promote better and safe staffing in our workplaces and engaged the public through raising the RCN profile.
For these reasons I believe I am well placed to ask for your vote to support me to become your Council member for Eastern region. Becoming your Council member will be an opportunity to continue representing your interests. I will be your negotiator for equality, diversity, honesty and fairness. This is something all our members deserve.
We must stand up to Government and challenge bullying wherever it shows its face. As a Council member I would champion this stance and continue my work to negotiate, campaign and win for you. I have already been involved in influencing Parliament on making positive decisions, worked with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) on stress, sharps management and with the Police Federation on protecting health practitioners from public harassment and bullying.
I will continue to stand up for truth and honesty. The future of healthcare depends on all of us and I am ready to represent the needs of our profession.
