The RCN in Northern Ireland is currently asking members working within the HSC in Northern Ireland if they are prepared to be balloted formally on industrial action over the continuing absence of any pay award for 2018-2019.
If you work in the HSC on an Agenda for Change contract, you should have received an email from the RCN on Monday 12 November inviting you to share your view on this proposal. Those who did not respond to this email received a reminder on Wednesday 21 November. If you didn’t receive these emails, or can’t locate them, but believe you are eligible to vote, you can still register your views by completing the survey here. It takes no more than a few seconds to do so.
You have until 5.00pm Monday 26 November to vote. If you are an RCN member working in the HSC, please make sure that you use your voice. Nursing pay in Northern Ireland is falling further and further behind our colleagues in the rest of the UK. The HSC has ever-growing unfilled vacant posts, whilst expenditure on agency staff to try to plug these gaps is escalating out of control.
