The pace of work is now accelerating with the designation of Accountable Care Status as part of the leadership status of the STP. There are five local STP priorities of - prevention of health deterioration, the integration of primary, community and social care, sustaining hospital services, technology support and innovation and system redesign.
The RCN is representing our members by having ongoing engagement with these work activities and through wider communication.
At a recent branch meeting we were joined by Hein Scheffer, Organisational Development Director and lead for workforce at Herts Valleys CCG, who provided an update and took questions from RCN members about local healthcare and the potential for change. A major development in 2018 will be the integration of the Luton and Dunstable and Bedford Hospitals along with mental health and community nursing being part of one NHS provider.
RCN members who wish to become more involved are warmly invited to our next Bedfordshire branch meeting to take place in April in Stevenage. For more information please keep checking the regional events page - https://www.rcn.org.uk/eastern/eastern-events – which will be updated once all the details are finalised.
