Speaking up as an RCN SIO - SIO Workshop

21 Nov 2019 10:00 - 16:00

London Region Office, Room 1,2 and 3, Royal College of Nursing, 20 Cavendish Square, Marylebone, London, W1G 0RN

Come along to our latest workshop for RCN Student Information Officers.

The RCN has introduced this three-year rolling learning and development programme to give focus to the work of our SIOs and to help them develop their leadership potential.  The programme aims to develop their knowledge and skills.

Taking part is a great opportunity to access continuing professional development and networking with peers, sharing ideas and learning from other nursing professionals and students.  There are five workshop programmes that will be available in each region during a three-year period, ie two workshops in each year therefore all SIOs will have the opportunity to attend them all. The programme will be accompanied by a workbook in which SIOs can capture their learning.

This latest workshop will enable participants to develop the knowledge and skills that enable SIOs to be confident in representing the views and position of the RCN and their peers in a way that is engaging and effective to a variety of audiences. It will start to prepare SIOs to speak on professional issues that matter to students in the public arena including contributing to discussions on social media.

This workshop will be delivered partnership with RCN Regional Communication Managers  This programme of events is free to attend and lunch is provided - please let us know any dietary requirements when booking your place.

Come and meet other SIOs at what promises to be an exciting and interactive day.

Travel will be arranged for SIOs attending the workshop. When booking your place, please indicate the train station you will be travelling from to get to London.
