RCN Student Information Officer Leadership Development Programme workshop: Healthy Workplace, Healthy You

22 Nov 2019 10:00 - 16:00

Board Room, RCN Yorkshire and the Humber, 2nd floor, 9 Bond Court, Leeds, LS1 2JZ

FREE

Student Information Officers (SIOs) are a network of RCN student members who work closely with the RCN to support and share information with their fellow students.

The RCN regards the SIO role as vital in ensuring the voice of nursing students across England is heard by the RCN, employers and nurse education institutions.

As such, we have introduced a learning and development programme to give focus to the work of our SIOs and to help them develop their leadership potential.

The programme aims to develop their knowledge and skills in:

  • gaining a thorough understanding of the RCN, its purpose and work
  • challenging discrimination in the workplace and education institutions
  • being confident to speak up on behalf of RCN students
  • leadership skills that are transferrable into a nursing and/or active RCN member role
  • identifying and promoting a healthy workplace and individual well-being on behalf of RCN students and members

Taking part in the programme is a great opportunity to access continuing professional development and network with peers, sharing ideas and learning from other nursing professionals and students.

This is the second workshop this year and will focus on the RCN's Healthy Workplace, Healthy You campaign, equipping you with the knowledge, tools and confidence to help create healthier working environments for you and your colleagues.
