Join us in the refreshed wellbeing area in the RCN London Library for a 'Time to' session on what we do best... books! Reading can have physical and mental benefits including stress reduction, strengthening your brain, and expanding your vocabulary.
Coinciding with World Book Night, this session encourages you to pick up a book and join us in person for an easy-going chat about it. We will provide hot drinks and cake, and everyone attending will be able to take away a free Quick Read book recommended by World Book Night – choose between The Mind Manual by Dr Alex George or A New Year by Leila Aboulela.
Before the session, you should try to read the book so you can join in the discussion, but don’t worry if you haven’t had time to read much, you’re still welcome to come along! Our book of choice is The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime by Mark Haddon.
‘Christopher John Francis Boone knows all the countries of the world and their capitals and every prime number up to 7,057. He relates well to animals but has no understanding of human emotions. He cannot stand to be touched. And he detests the colour yellow. This is an improbable story of Christopher’s quest to investigate the suspicious death of a neighbourhood dog’
You can find the book at most local libraries, it is often available in charity shops or on World of Books and other book retailers.
