Are you a health care professional involved in advising and caring for those travelling abroad?

If so, you’ll know that delivering accurate and current advice to travellers is becoming more complex and anticipating individual needs can be challenging. Feeling confident, knowing your competence level and staying up to date with the latest information, guidance and resources has never been more important.

To address these issues a joint event has been developed by the RCN Public Health Forum and The National Travel Health Network and Centre (NaTHNaC), two national bodies providing authoritative evidence based travel health guidance to health professionals.

Royal College of Nursing
20 Cavendish Square

20 Cavendish Square is located behind John Lewis, Oxford Street.

The nearest stations are Oxford Circus and Bond Street.

There are many buses routes that stop nearby, including the 10, 25, 55, 73, 98 and 390.

Sessions will combine plenary (knowledge) and workshop (skills/practice) style learning opportunities, each based on competence levels as described in the RCN Competence Document (2012), and delivered by experts in the field, including:
  • immunisations
  • malaria
  • sexual health
  • complex travel scenarios
  • what's on the horizon?
With concurrent sessions split according to competence ability, whether new to travel health or more experienced, you will have the opportunity to tailor your experience to your educational needs. This is an event that everyone consulting with travellers should attend and one not to be missed. Enjoy networking with colleagues in the field and leave feeling confident and competent to deliver high quality advice and care for your travellers.
