RCN Wales (Cardiff), Ty Maeth, King George V Drive East, Cardiff, CF14 4XZ

Almost two million people in the UK have significant sight loss. A demographic shift has seen more people living longer and needing support to live with sight loss and other co-morbidity challenges

Please note this event is now fully booked - please contact the Events Registration team on 02920 546460 if you would like to be added to a waiting list

This seminar is aimed at Registered Nurses working in any sector, but is particularly relevant for those in contact with older people in community and residential settings.

Why is early detection and correction of sight loss important:

  • Sight loss can increase social isolation, add to confusion, increase the likelihood of falls and trips and reduce quality of life
  • Sight loss early detection and correction can increase the confidence of those affected to once again go out and socialise
  • Detection sight loss can prevent misdiagnosis of dementia

The lead facilitator for this workshop will be Nicola Dunlop, Adnexal Nurse Consultant, Moorfields Eye Hospital

This seminar will count towards participatory learning for NMC revalidation

This event is free for all to attend, however booking is essential.

The closing date for applications: Thursday 21 November 2019

For further information about the seminar, please contact the event organiser, Rhona Workman on 02920 680713 or email CPDwales@rcn.org.uk
