What's the future of mental health care?

The Inaugural RCN Foundation Lecture

14 Dec 2017 18:00 - 21:00

Royal College of Nursing, 20 Cavendish Square, Marylebone, London, W1G 0RN

Speaker - Baroness Sheila Hollins

Mental health problems are the leading cause of sickness absence in the UK, and 1 in 4 people will experience mental ill-health in their lifetime. What can we do to improve our mental health, and support that of others? In this public lecture, we look at innovative ways of supporting mental health care, in nursing and beyond: including nurse-led initiatives, peer support and advocacy.

Every day, thousands of people rely on the care of nurses, midwives and health care assistants (HCAs). The RCN Foundation gives vital support back to these caring professionals. We safeguard nurses, midwives and HCAs in need offering support services and financial assistance to get their lives back on track. We invest in nursing care and fund learning development for the nursing community. We fund innovative nurse-led projects that aim to improve the health and wellbeing of the public.
