Criteria-led discharge (formerly known as nurse-led discharge) is a process used by nurses and therapists to expedite the patient discharge process.

Over the years since it was first introduced in policy (2004) there have been many iterations, but successfully embedding it in practice has, for the most part, not been achieved.

Presented by Dr Liz Lees-Deutsch, Associate Professor for Nursing at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW) NHS Trust and Coventry University’s Centre for Care Excellence, this session will examine what criteria-led discharge is, the benefits it can bring to patients and staff and address some of the issues involved in its implementation.

You do not need to have the Microsoft Teams app to join the session - you will be able to join using the web browser of any internet-enabled device.

You can book your place now for the event. Once you have booked your place, you will receive the Microsoft Teams link one working day before the event.

Please note – this event is also open to non RCN members at a fee of £24 (includes VAT). Non members will only receive a refund upon cancellation. Non attendance will not be refunded.

If you have any queries about this event, or want more information, please call the RCN West Midlands Regional Office on 0121 450 4300.
