Christmas message from RCN Wales

22 Dec 2015

RCN Wales asks us to remember the health care professionals who will be working over Christmas to keep the health service open for business.

Tina Donnelly, Director, RCN Wales, said: “The beauty of our NHS is that it is available to members of the public 365 days a year, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. With this commitment to providing year-round care we must remember our health care professionals who will be working tirelessly this Christmas period to ensure that our health service is still running smoothly and open for business.”

“With this mind, those working in primary care, such as Accident and Emergency, will be feeling the pressures of the winter period combined with a higher demand on services. To alleviate these pressures, we ask that patients ‘choose well’ over this busy period to ensure that they access the right treatment by using the right services at the right time.”

“We may take opportunities to be with our families and friends over the festive season for granted but spare a thought for those who sacrifice this as part of their dedicated service to health care in order to make sure that the public is happy, healthy and safe this Christmas time.”
