RCN London offers our condolences

6 Jun 2017

We have learned that RCN member Kirsty Boden, a nurse from Australia working in Theatre Recovery at Guy’s Hospital, was among those killed in the events on London Bridge on Saturday night.

We offer our deepest condolences to Kirsty’s friends, family, colleagues and those who knew her in the wider nursing community across the world.

It has become clear that as the attack unfolded, Kirsty put others before herself and ran towards the danger in order to be able to help those who had been injured. Her colleagues have described her as a hugely valued member of the team, and it was characteristic of her to go the extra mile for those she was caring for.

The actions of Kirsty and many others like her in London and Manchester serve to remind us how brave, selfless and dedicated all our emergency service personnel are.

Our thoughts are with Kirsty and her family following their tragic loss, and with all the other families who have lost loved ones, and we pray for the swift recovery of those who have been injured.
