London Clinical Senate Forum

Update from the event

6 Jun 2017

The London Clinical Senate Forum took place on 25 May. Discussions centred on the provision of elderly care, particularly how to improve health in London’s care homes in the future.

Attendees heard from Aileen Buckton from the Association of Directors of Adult Social services who outlined the trends and patterns in London’s care home services, which included a note that the vacancy rate for care workers in elderly settings currently stands at 10% in London.

The room also heard from William Roberts, National Lead for Enhanced Care in Care Homes, on the new care models being delivered by the care home vanguards in Sutton – William emphasised the importance of working across organisations and disciplines in order to provide holistic person-centred care for elderly individuals and encouraged providers and leaders in the NHS to look at their project and use it as a framework for ideas in their own areas.
