Making a difference in Scunthorpe

7 Feb 2017

RCN Humber branch invited dementia campaigner Tommy Whitelaw to speak at their learning event focusing on 'Making a Difference'.

The event, held at Scunthorpe Hospital, was well-attended after months of planning and advance marketing on regional social media. Events such as this are now often publicised on Facebook and Twitter.

Senior nursing staff attended and praised the organisers for bringing an inspiring and motivating speaker to Scunthorpe.

Tommy Whitelaw cared for his mother when she had dementia and now devotes much of his time to campaigning on issues around care-giving.

He asked those attending to pledge to ‘make a difference’.

More information about Tommy’s work can be found on his blog here.
