RCN London members are invited to attend the wreath-laying ceremony in memory of Mary Seacole, which takes place on Saturday 9 May 2015.

RCN London members are invited to attend the wreath-laying ceremony in memory of Mary Seacole, which takes place on Saturday 9 May 2015. The annual event is organised by the Mary Seacole Memorial Association and the theme for this year is Mary Seacole “A woman of valour”.

The service will be at 11am at St Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Harrow Road, Kensal Green, London NW10 5NU, followed by lunch at St Mark’s Church Hall, Bathurst Gardens NW10 5AL. The Association are asking for the sum of £12 per head to cover costs.

Statue Fundraising Appeal

The fundraising appeal for the Mary Seacole Statue at St Thomas’ Hospital is now in its final leg. The statue will overlook the Thames opposite Westminster and will be the first statue of a named black woman anywhere in the UK.
