RCN Award of Merit for RCN steward in Scotland

RCN steward in Scotland receives top honour for service

An RCN steward in Scotland has received the highest honour the RCN can give for service to the College.

Pauline McIntyre has been a steward for almost 10 years and is also Deputy Director of Care for Erskine, which provides support to veterans in Scotland. She navigates her demanding dual role with great skill. Her drive to improve outcomes for all was recognised by her Chief Executive and Director of Care, both of who nominated her for this award.

Theresa Fyffe, RCN Scotland Director, said:

“Colleagues describe how Pauline regularly goes above and beyond what is expected from someone in her role. She is a true credit to the College. Pauline is skilful, knowledgeable and always takes time to consider the needs of both staff and residents. It’s fantastic to see a rep working in the independent sector recognised this way, and testament to the impact Pauline has made.”

Commenting on receiving her award at RCN Congress 2019 in Liverpool earlier this week, Pauline McIntyre said:

“I am truly honoured to receive this award and recognition from RCN. It’s been a privilege supporting colleagues at Erskine since 2008 when I became RCN Steward and Learning Representative.”
