Today the Nursing and Midwifery Council have introduced revalidation for all nurses across the UK.

The RCN commented on the announcement that the Nursing and Midwifery Council has decided to introduce revalidation for all nurses and midwives in the UK.

Tina Donnelly, Director, RCN Wales said: "The RCN is supportive of revalidation for nurses and midwives because it will ensure public confidence in the nursing profession. This will protect patients and nurses."

"The RCN worked with the NMC to help shape their current proposals and we will be supporting our members across Wales and the UK to help them prepare for revalidation. The NMC has piloted its proposed model for revalidation in different settings across the UK including Aneurin Bevan University Health Board, where a substantial number of nurses participated."
