Nurses hold Staines scrap the cap event

RCN members will hand out postcards to local people calling on the government to end the public sector pay freeze

14 Sep 2017

Nurses from Staines will encourage members of the public to sign the postcards which they will be handing to local Spelthorne MP Kwasi Kwarteng.

RCN Officer Sue Bucksey said: “Nurses are tired, overworked and frustrated by the government continuing this cruel pay cap. Our members have suffered a 14 percent reduction in their wages since 2010 and with inflation now running at 2.9 percent, they are desperately in need of a meaningful rise.

“The RCN is resolute in its determination to see the cap lifted and nurses will not take no for an answer.”

The event will be held outside Accessorize Elmsleigh Rd, Staines TW18 4QB (Elmsleigh Shopping Centre) from 10.45am to 2pm.
