RCN South Eastern Branch members meet Lady Sylvia Hermon MP

RCN members across Northern Ireland are currently meeting their local MPs to highlight the key messages from the Scrap the Cap campaign.

Joanne Stevenson, Erin Rossan, Stephen McSherry, Lady Sylvia Hermon MP and Debbie Flynn RCN South Eastern Branch pay champions met Lady Sylvia Hermon MP this week to highlight the RCN’s Scrap the Cap pay campaign and to discuss the need to promote pay equality for Northern Ireland nurses.
Pay champions Erin Rossan and Debbie Flynn attended the meeting alongside Senior RCN Officer Stephen McSherry and Joanne Stevenson, Trade Union Secretary for the South Eastern Trust. They highlighted their concerns at the current cap on public sector pay and the fact that nurses in Northern Ireland are the lowest paid in the UK. Lady Sylvia, who is an independent MP for North Down, expressed her support for the campaign and for closing the gap in pay.
