RCN responds to CQC report on Medway NHS Foundation Trust

In response to the CQC report on Medway NHS Foundation Trust which recommended the trust comes out of special measures following significant improvements, Daniel Heppell, RCN Regional Officer for Kent, said:

“We are really pleased to see the progress Medway NHS Foundation Trust has achieved and that it is now exiting special measures.

“We know our members and nursing staff have been working under serious pressures, and we are delighted that their hard work has been recognised.

“This improvement has also been down to a period of stability from the trust’s new leadership team, which is now meaningfully engaging with staff.

“There is still more work to be done, and the RCN is looking forward to continuing to work in partnership with the trust, and to help to drive through further improvements.”
