So far more than 700 business, education and voluntary sector partners have committed to support the campaign and embed social action into the lives of young people. The campaign aims to give all young people access to social action opportunities – creating a habit for life, developing vital skills and making a positive impact on their communities.
The RCN will support it by sharing information, raising awareness with our younger members and encouraging them to get involved in local and national initiatives.
This includes activities such as campaigning, fundraising and volunteering, all of which create a double-benefit – to communities and young people themselves. We are pledging to:
- help young people act as health champions, supporting their peers and communities to live healthier lifestyles
- ensure young people’s voices are heard so that services and organisations are shaped with their needs at the centre
- help young people support their communities in either health and social care settings or their wider communities.
