16 Mar 2015

Tina Donnelly, Director, RCN Wales responds to Welsh Government’s investment in Emergency Medical Retrieval and Transfer Service.

Of today’s news that the Welsh Government has invested £2.8 million in the Emergency Medical Retrieval and Transfer Service in Wales, Tina Donnelly, Director, RCN Wales said:

“We commend the Welsh Government’s investment in these innovative modes of medical transportation and a world class critical care team that will provide urgent care to patients who have potentially life-threatening illnesses. Advancements in areas such as this will guarantee that patients in Wales are being provided the highest quality of care and most importantly, will save lives in the process.”

“In Wales, we have a population that has diverse and complex needs; due to issues such as rurality, access to quick and effective emergency care is a key area of concern. However, with investments such as this we are placing the safety of patients at the centre of health care, no matter how challenging the case.”
