Revalidation support for RCN members in London

Interactive training sessions at the regional office

19 Jul 2016

RCN London have been holding a series of events for members which offer support and guidance on the subject of revalidation.

The events looked at the new requirements which revalidation brings in for nursing staff, and how members could maintain their post registration education and practice (Prep). The day included useful insights into the process of Revalidation and the chance to complete a reflective account using the NMC mandatory template, whilst giving participants the opportunity to ask questions and share experiences.

The last of the six free development sessions was held at the London Region Office on 7 July. The whole series was hailed a success and was consistently well subscribed, with around 30 members at the last session.

RCN London Development Officer Alison Telfer and Christine McKenzie, Facilitator of Professional Learning & Development co facilitated the series.

Alison said: “We can’t be happier with the way the events have gone. Feedback so far has been great and we are now looking at what further support is needed based on the feedback from members.”

Every nurse and midwife on the 685,000-strong register will be required to go through revalidation when they are due to renew their registration over the next three years. More information from the RCN about what you will need to do can be found here.
