Voting is now open in the RCN Council elections. Voting papers have been sent in the post and must be returned by 11 December. Full details of the candidates standing for election can be found on the elections pages of the RCN website.

The elections are for one-year terms on Council from 1 January in the following constituencies: East Midlands, London, Northern, Northern Ireland, North West, Scotland, South East, South West, Wales, West Midlands, Yorkshire & the Humber and health practitioners.

Elections will take place in all constituencies where more than one candidate is standing for election. Richard Jones has been elected unopposed to represent Wales as no other candidates put themselves forward.

Hustings events have been arranged in a number of the countries and regions where elections are taking place. Find out more.

Acting RCN Chief Executive Dame Donna Kinnair said: “I would urge every member to vote in these elections. The RCN is your organisation and you must have a say in who runs it.

“RCN Council provides leadership and direction to the organisation. It ensures that the RCN has a clear vision and strategic plan and holds management to account.

“As the nursing profession faces some of the most significant challenges in a generation, we need a strong Council to help steer the RCN forward. Please exercise your right to choose who takes on this important role.”
