The Branch submitted their matter for discussion on the Centenary and were delighted to find themselves on the final agenda for the Glasgow based Congress. The debate asks delegates to discuss how to build on the achievements and work of the RCN over the last 100 years.
Celia Manson, branch chair says: “Congress is such an important forum it is wonderful that we can get our voices heard on the stage. We bought the matter for discussion as we could see the value of talking about the once in a lifetime event for nurses – the 100 year anniversary of the RCN."
Getting an item onto the final Congress agenda is no easy task with submissions being made from all four UK countries, RCN forums, committees and branches. The RCN Agenda Committee reviewed 120 submissions before deciding on the final 22 which covers the important, relevant and topical issues for nurses in 2016.
