Thanks to funding from the RCN’s East Midlands Board, the Derbyshire Branch is offering its members the chance to secure one of three expenses-paid places at Congress 2020 in Liverpool from 7-11 June next year.
The offer is open to all members in the branch. One applicant from each of the RCN’s three categories of membership – registered nurse/midwife, nursing support worker and nursing student – will be chosen to have their travel and hotel costs paid so they can be part of the Derbyshire Branch delegation attending Congress.
Visiting Congress is an opportunity to listen to and take part in debates about key nursing and health care issues, attend fringe events designed to support your learning and development or awareness of professional and nursing practice topics, experience the popular Congress exhibition and enjoy a range of social and networking activities.
The offer of these expenses-paid places has been specially created for Derbyshire members to mark the 200th anniversary of the birth of Florence Nightingale, who spent part of her childhood in the county.
Applicants are invited from members of the RCN Derbyshire Branch, who should complete and return the application form (Word document) explaining how they have implemented elements of a national campaign or project in their place of work that has benefited the wellbeing of patients, service users, carers or staff. This could be an RCN campaign, such as Rest, Rehydrate, Refuel, for example, or an NHS or other professional initiative.
Applicants should ensure they have their manager's permission to attend Congress from 7-11 June 2020. You can also nominate a colleague but please check they are available and have their manager's permission to attend Congress.
The closing date for receipt of applications is 20 January 2020. Successful applicants will be notified in early February.
Complete the application form.
