Nurses Day is celebrated every year on the anniversary of Florence Nightingale’s birth, 12 May. This year also marks the centenary of her death.
The ‘Caring for Vulnerable People’ conference, held on Nurses' Day, brings together 9 organisations across Hertfordshire including the Royal College of Nursing, Unison and the University of Hertfordshire.
Delegates will discuss how Hertfordshire nurses are striving to keep vulnerable patients safe.
Paul Brown, RCN learning rep for Hertfordshire Community Healthcare Trust and RCN UK learning rep committee member said: “Last year over 250 nurses from all across Hertfordshire heard inspirational stories, networked with colleagues and learned how nurses are improving patient care in Hertfordshire.
"This year we are pleased to welcome Jane Cummings, NHS Chief Nurse and Dr Peter Carter, General Secretary and Chief Executive of the RCN”
The conference is at Tewin Bury Farm Hotel and Conference Centre, Welwyn Garden City on Thursday 14th May.
