RCN London at Congress 2022

A full round up from Congress

10 Jun 2022

It was truly wonderful that after no Congress for two years, London members could be together in person once again.

Congress news story

What a Congress!

Congress opened with four fantastic awards for London members. Congratulations again to:

Joanne Bosanquet (RCN Fellowship)

Fiona Hibberts (RCN Merit Award)

Kerryn McGowran (RCN Merit Award)

Kafeelat Adekunle (RCN Steward of the Year Commendation)

Thank you for everything you do on behalf of members and the nursing profession.

Congress is a chance for members to discuss the most important nursing issues and London members brought really important national and international issues to Congress, with two resolutions passed!  Jim Blair, on behalf of Zoe Carciente and the Inner North Central London branch spoke to their resolution on overworking and its impact on the health and wellbeing of nursing staff working over their shift or contracted hours.  Zeba Arif on behalf of the Outer North West London branch spoke to the resolution on ethical overseas recruitment.

Also a chance to socialise and meet with others, it was great to see so many people at the regional reception on the Monday evening. There we celebrated more of our London members and it was an opportunity to thank them for their hard work on behalf on members in the capital:

Georgina McGee (RCN London Merit Award)

Shirley Ali (Long Service Award)

And we’ll leave you with some of the highlights from this year...
