New Operational Manager for RCN London

RCN London is pleased to confirm Jude Diggins as its new Operational Manager, replacing Nora Flanagan MBE who retired earlier this year. Jude joins Sue Tarr as one of two Operational Managers covering the London region.

Jude has wide ranging experience of 30 years’ as a nurse in both Southern Ireland and England, including at the Children’s University Hospital in Dublin, Portsmouth Hospital NHS Trust and Hampshire Community Healthcare. She has held posts from ward to board and worked in paediatrics, acute care, community, mental health and learning disability settings.

Jude left the NHS in late 2014 and undertook a Masters Degree in Law - focusing on Employment legislation and Zero Hours Contracts in her dissertation. In her spare time she has recently started learning to play the piano, loves getting out walking and cycling on the south coast and enjoys going to the theatre. She has been an RCN member for more than twenty years and starts work at RCN London on 31 October 2016. 

Jude Diggins said: “I have worked closely with the RCN throughout my career and I know how important the College is in helping nursing staff to access the best advice and support possible. I am really looking forward to being involved and to having the chance to support such a diverse membership across so many different settings and specialisms of nursing.”  

RCN London Regional Director Bernell Bussue said: “We are delighted to have such an experienced and established nursing figure to help lead our work here in the region. Jude will be a committed and passionate advocate for nursing staff in their workplace and will add a new angle to the professional nursing support we are able to offer for RCN members in London.”
