Chair of RCN Scotland Board, Julie Lamberth wrote to the First Minister last week to express members’ surprise and disappointment at the decision to implement the pay offer without further discussion, particularly given nursing is the largest group of staff within NHS Scotland.
The RCN Scotland Board met this week to discuss and structure the next steps. The Board is committed to keeping members informed and engaged as this work moves forward.
Julie Lamberth, Chair, RCN Scotland Board, said: “We are clear that the Scottish government must do more to address the years of under investment and to ensure Scotland can retain and recruit the nursing workforce it needs across health and social care.
“Our members have spoken, and the Scottish government must listen.”
“As a Board we have spent time considering in detail the options open to us.”
“The Board is committed to keeping members informed and engaged as this work moves forward. We will want to ask your views, which is why it is so important that the information the RCN holds on you is up to date.”
